SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY




The Institution has been actively involved in organizing outreach programs to reach out to remote and resource challenged areas.



These programs aim at dental treatment and creating oral health awareness. Thousands of patients benefit from these camps and a considerable number of these beneficiaries continue treatment in the Institution as follow up patients. The Institution has taken a great initiative in providing free transport facility and free dental treatment for follow up patients which bridges the biggest challenge faced in remote rural area.

The institution works hand in hand with private organizations like Rotary Club, inner-wheel club, JCI, Lion’s Club and other NGOs to collaborate and conduct numerous outreach programs in the rural areas to improve the oral quality of life of the population and in turn improve overall social welfare of the community at large.



Thousands of patients benefit from these camps and a considerable number of these beneficiaries continue treatment in the Institution as follow up patients.

The TOBACCO CESSATION centre was established on May 21st 2019 in the Department of Oral Medicne and Radiology.

The Institution caters to four Primary Health centers: Guthigaru, Ishwaramangala, Kaniyoor and Kolthige located around a distance of 20 kms from Sullia and two Community health centers at Sullia and Puttur. The institution operates a satellite centre in Bellare. The institution have adopted villages in and around Sullia and caters its services bi annually. The institution also have adopted schools in Peraje and renders its services fortnightly.

  • The “MuguluNageYojane” a maiden project of the AOLE® whereby two schools are adopted by the Institution to render preventive and therapeutic treatment to the students on a regular basis without interfering with their study schedule.
  • The schools that are adopted are Jyothi High School Peraje, Madikeri, Kodagu District and KVG School, Kollamogaru.
  • Students in need of treatment are identified by the postgraduate students from the department of Public Health Dentistry.
  • Free transportation facility is provided by the Institution to transport the school students to the Institution for further treatment.

Numerous schools like Marthoma College for Deaf and Dumb, Cherkala and Marnatha Child Development Center, Panathoor are adopted by the Institution to render preventive and therapeutic treatment to the students who require special care.

  • Two villages are adopted by the Institution namely Idamangala and Panja to provide free dental treatment.
  • Two schools namely, Vidyashree School in Mulleria and Government Higher Primary School in Jayanagar, Sullia have been adopted by the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry.

Interprofessional Collaborations with various fields of health sciences such as Gynacology, Paediatrics, Paedodontics, Community Medicine Dentistry along with the grass root level workers such as ASHAS for prevention of childhood caries and betterment of health for upliftment of society.

More than hundred ASHA workers of Sullia Taluk are trained to create Dental Health Awareness among the rural population in and around Sullia Taluk.

The NSS unit of the Institution conducts several camps in rural areas including awareness programs for Oral Hygiene, Oral Cancer awareness regarding AIDS, Dengue, Malaria.

  • Blood Donation Camp - Youth Red Cross is an active unit of the institution that serves the rural population by organizing periodic Blood donation camps.
  • The Institution is in collaboration with Government of Karnataka for ‘DantaBhagyaYojane’, where free complete dentures are given to the senior citizens with BPL cards.
